Aspiring comedian Eurydice Dixon found dead on a soccer field at the Princes Park sports precinct. A passer-by discovered her body around 2.40am on Wednesday morning.

The comedienne’s Eurydice Dixon age was just 22 when she died after sending a heartbreaking message before her final moment. At that time, Dixon was on her way to home and only hundred meters away at Princes Park.

Eurydice Dixon last message was to her friend Tony Magnuson whom she left at Flinders Street Station. On Facebook, she messaged,

“I’m almost home safe, HBU [how about you].”

Speaking to Fairfax Media, Magnuson said,

She gave me a hug, blew me a kiss and said she was going for a walk,”“She was on top of the world because her gig went so well.”

After a police investigation, a man named Jaymes Todd, 19-year-old Broadmeadows faced court charged with her rape and murder. On that day, police released CCTV images which captured the childcare student’s walk home.

According to the guesses made, a guy in a hoodie stalked Dixon for more than four kilometers while she was heading to CBD. The young man in a hoodie was none other than Jaymes Todd who handed himself in at Broadmeadows police station the same night.

While appearing on Melbourne Magistrate’s Court, Todd’s lawyer said that he suffered from Autism Spectrum Disorder and is socially regressive. Reporters on the scene said that Todd kept his eyes down in most of his appearance on the court.

Besides, police said that the alleged killer didn’t know Ms. Dixon remanding in custody until October. Dixon invited her friends to watch her show on her last post on Facebook. It read:

“You guys should come along and watch,” “It will be a good night.”

Floods of solace started pouring for the comedienne including the Venue. In a Facebook statement, the venue said,

“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic news of the death of Eurydice Dixon,” “She was a remarkable, talented, kind, unique and universally loved person and the entire staff are shattered and heartbroken.”

What police has to say about the ‘alleged killer’?

Hours after releasing CCTV images of the man in a grey hooded jumper, the teen’s arrest arrived. Andrew Stamper, a homicide squad detective inspector, told a media conference that the alleged killer “surrendered himself” after the images shared by the press.

Without revealing the exact time or location, he said that the images were from Melbourne CBD and not captured in Carlton North. Police couldn’t predict whether the comedienne got murdered at the second location and dumped in Carlton.

Moreover, they are unable to detect a specific timeline for the alleged murder. However, they asked for any “information or footage” to the public.

Following the murder of the comedienne Eurydice Dixon, warnings for women to take responsibility for their safety created a criticism all over the social media.

Days after the incident, police increased their patrols in the area advising people to be “aware of their surroundings”.
