The show featured seven volunteers who willingly go undercover inside North Carolina’s Pitt County Detention Center.
Seven individuals will enter Sheriff Paula S. Dance’s facility undercover to live as inmates for 60 days if they last.
She is the first state African-American female sheriff in the history of the county, North Carolina. She wished they hopefully provide the intel needed to better her facility.
Chief Capehart and a select few members of Paula’s staff were aware of the true nature of what they were doing here.
They wished the show would tell more about how inmates run behind the scene and detect how drugs get into the facility so that they can fix their jail form inside out.
Paula believed being a part of the program is part of the solution.

Meet The Cast of 60 Days In
60 Days In Season 8 cast are Stevie, Jake, Clydell, Coco, Brittney, Sara, and Jamil. They will go undercover under the Shrieff Paula S. Dance facility.
Feli Sleaze, Aka Jamil
Jamil is a musician from Pembroke, North Carolina. He is currently 30 years old.
The musician grew up as an only child, where he witnessed drug dealing, stabbing, overdoses, lot of killing in his area.
He could not get proper education because he was involved in fights in school.
At about 15, he moved from North Carolina to New Jersey.
Although he has no criminal record, he had a loved one incarcerated.
He wanted to go undercover in the 60 Days In program to expose the jail. He wanted to go in there and ensure the inmates were treated properly.
Sarah Anselment
Sarah Anselment, aka Sara, from Minnesota, is an entrepreneur, digital creator, and Senior Diamond Director at Bellame. She is 33 years old.
The entrepreneur lived with her fiance Anthony Magnuson for almost eight years. The couple have six kids together.
When she was growing up, her parents struggled with addiction, and she started using meth when she was 14.
When she was using needles and meth, she became pregnant at 18.
The mother of six is a recovering addict and spent time in and out of jail.
Sara 60 Days In wanted to inspire these women who were going through addiction and give them hope that they could recover. Also, jail can be a turning point for them.
Clydell Conner
Clydell Conner, aka Chris, is an ex-inmate from Sacramento, California, who went to jail for robbery and weapon possession.
Clydell 60 Days In is 42 years old.
Currently, he runs a nonprofit organization with his fiance Adrena Thomas. They helped homeless people.
The couple has been together for four years.
Unfortunately, he went to prison at 17. So, he volunteers to be undercover to make a positive difference and improve relations between inmates and staff.
Brittney
Brittney is a 32-year-old participant from Madison, Tennessee. She is a school therapist.
The therapist has been on her own since she was 17 years old. She is the second oldest of six children and the person that comes to for advice. So she is the backbone of her family.
She received her Master of Science Psychology degree from Tennessee State University.
The Madison native joined the show to see the changes she could elicit in the Pitt County Detention Center.
Jacob
Jacob, aka Jake, is an operation manager and 60 Days In Superfan. He is from Columbus, Ohio, and later relocated to Tampa, Florida.
The 28 years old is currently engaged in Mahogany. They got two children, Marley and Jacob Jr.
His dad spent some time incarcerated when he was in high school. It contributed to getting him in trouble.
He was a fan of last season’s volunteer Darius. He got inspired by the participant and volunteered to help the inmates.
Steven
Steven, aka Stevie, is a bodyguard and former corrections officer for a state prison. He is 38 years old and from Southern California.
Stevie 60 Days In grew up in one of the worst cities in California, where he was around gangs, drugs, and street life.
He has been a correction officer right out of the academy. They put him in level four prison just because his trainer knew his knowledge of the streets of the gang.
The 38 years old is a family man, married for 13 years, and has two kids.
The bodyguard goes undercover to focus on how they treat inmates and believes they should be treated with integrity.
Charlotte Marques
Charlotte Marques, aka Coco, is a stay home mom, former comedian, and an ex-inmate. She is from Odem, Texas, and recently lives in Austin, Texas.
The 43 years old have five children, two from her fiance and three from her previous relationship.
She volunteered to join the show because she was one of them.
Where Is 60 Days In Season 8 Filmed?
60 Days In Season 8 was filmed at Pitt County Detention Center in Greenville, North Carolina. It’s the prison in Pitt County, North Carolina.
The Pitt County Sheriff Paula Dance shared with Fox 8, the shooting of the show started in September 2022.
Paula is responsible for the entire 656 square miles. Generally for sheriffs, their areas are rural sites.
Pitt County is a diverse community, and on any given day, 200,000 people come here for work while some commit crimes.
The sheriffs mentioned it attracts people, whether good or bad.
Before the participants enter the facility, there is some insight into the Pitt County Detention Center.
Paula shared the north side of the county, a pretty much-impoverished area. She expressed it is a very high-volume area for them. The roadways are not maintained, which comes with a higher level of crime.
They face gun crimes, gangs, and opioid situations. The jail consists of federal inmates and local Pitt County felons jailed for assaults, murder, and robbery.
